Anne can confirm that internet creator F1NN5TER provided early financial support that contributed to setting Anne up as a not-for-profit organisation in 2024.

Their contribution enabled us to secure our first prescriber in 2024, at a point when few clinicians were willing to work with under-18s. Members of their community also connected us with the endocrinologist who went on to join our clinical team and who now supports F1NN5TER’s own care.

F1NN5TER had previously donated to another trans healthcare provider for adult services, but became concerned about the quality of care being offered, particularly the use of AI in patient care. Recognising the need for something better, F1NN5TER supported Anne co-founders Susie Green and Lizzie Jordan in creating a human-focused alternative.

“The work would not have happened without the money F1NN5TER contributed,” said Lizzie Jordan, co-founder of Anne.

“Their support secured our first prescriber in 2024, at a critical moment when we were struggling to find medical professionals willing to work with under-18s and faced resistance from traditional funding sources. Their community brought us our first endocrinologist, who started prescribing to young people. It’s a lovely full-circle moment that the same doctor now assists with F1NN5TER’s own care.” added Susie Green, co-founder of Anne.

“The reason I wanted to help and the reason I kept my involvement private are unfortunately the same.

Trans people are constantly vilified and made to feel lesser in the UK, overseas and online. Going public with my involvement may help at least a few people receive the lifesaving healthcare they need, and that makes it entirely worth it.”

Anne’s commitment to human-centred care is fundamental to its model. “We do not use AI in Anne,” confirmed Jordan. “Every patient talks directly to their clinically qualified prescriber. Every treatment plan is personalised. This is a significant factor in the safety and health of patients who transfer their care to us from other providers.”

F1NN5TER has spoken publicly about their own experience with our service, noting that their intake appointment felt straightforward and supportive.

F1NN5TER, who has documented their own gender journey with their online community, said their positive experience with Anne stood out immediately: “My intake call clinician was trans, relatable, and not trying to catch me out. It was a new and welcome experience.”

“After going through my own very public transition in front of the internet, I didn’t want to bring the negative attention I’d experienced to a growing not-for-profit. Anne’s work is too important. However I feel like now, more than ever, it’s important to publicly and vocally support the trans community. Going public with my involvement may help at least a few people receive the lifesaving healthcare they need, and that makes it entirely worth it.” said F1NN5TER
