  • Most Anne appointments take place online by video call. This includes your therapeutic intake, medical consultations, and counselling sessions. You can join from wherever feels safe and comfortable for you.

Some parts of your care need to happen in person. Blood tests, for example, can be done in a way that works best for you; through your GP, at one of our partner clinics, or at home using a mobile phlebotomy service.

  • There are a few ways to get your blood tests done, so you can choose what works best for you.

    With your GP

If you go through your GP, we’ll provide all the details you and your GP need.

At one of our partner clinics

If you’d like to visit a partner clinic, we’ll make the referral and email you simple instructions for booking your test. You’ll go to your appointment, and the lab will send your results directly to us.

Clinic blood tests are included in your monthly membership, except for Lite members.

At home with a mobile blood test service

If you choose the at-home option, we’ll email you instructions for booking. A trained healthcare professional (called a phlebotomist) will come to your home to take your blood sample. They’ll send it to the lab, and your results will be shared with us.

Please note that if there’s a clinic near you, choosing the at-home service instead may come with an extra cost.

Whichever option you choose, we’ll guide you through it and make sure everything is straightforward.

  • Writing your prescription is included in your membership. You’ll just need to pay for the medication itself.

The cost of medication can vary depending on what you’re prescribed, your dose, and where you get it from.

For more details, visit our hormone therapy page.

  • Our care is based on informed consent, but there’s still a process to follow.

All members go through an intake process. This helps us make sure hormone therapy is the right next step for you and that you understand what it involves.

  • If you’re prescribed hormone therapy, we’ll send you a digital prescription you can take to a local pharmacy. If you’re over 18, we can also connect you with a UK pharmacy that delivers to your home.

If you’re under 18 and accessing puberty blockers through our legal route, we’ll give you all the information you need to order, pay for, and administer the medication safely.

  • The intake process can take up to 12 weeks to complete, although this can vary from person to person.

This is because everyone’s situation is different. The timeline can depend on things like your age, where you are on your gender journey, what kind of support you’re looking for, whether you’ve had hormone therapy before, and the type of gender-affirming care support you need.

It can also vary based on how many intake sessions are recommended, your availability for appointments, and how you choose to arrange your blood tests.

We tailor the process to you, so you get the right level of support at the right pace.

  • Yes. We can write surgery referral letters for both members and non-members. But it’s important to know that each surgical provider has their own rules, so we can’t guarantee they’ll accept our letters.

Once you’ve chosen a surgeon, you can ask them directly if they accept referrals from Anne Health. If needed, we’re happy to reach out to them ourselves to explain who we are and how we work.

  • Yes. If you’re under 18, we need consent from at least one parent or legal guardian before we can welcome you to Anne Health. We’ll also need that parent or guardian to join some of your appointments if asked. This helps us make sure you’re supported and safe throughout your care.

  • Our standard membership is a 12-month contract. If you change your mind after the 14-day cooling-off period, you’ll still need to pay the monthly fee until the end of the 12 months.

If you change your mind within 14 days of paying the £200 joining fee, and haven’t used any services, we’ll give you a full refund.

The Lite Membership is different. It’s a rolling monthly contract, so you can switch or cancel more easily.

Read our terms and conditions for more information.

  • Not unless you want us to. As a private provider, we won’t contact your GP unless you give us permission. However, if you’d like us to communicate with your GP, and keep them informed of all relevant updates relating to your care with us, we’re happy to do so.

  • Yes, in many cases. If you live outside the UK and want to join Anne, we’d love to hear from you. There may be some differences in how your care is delivered, so we recommend speaking to our friendly admin team before signing up.

  • No, you don’t. You don’t need a formal diagnosis of gender dysphoria to access our services. We use an informed consent model, which centres your understanding of yourself and your care choices.

  • We cannot endorse, recommend or guarantee specific results, but the following surgeons have accepted our referral letters in the past:

    • Dr Ioannis Ntanos (UK & Greece, based in Manchester)
    • Mr Miles Berry (Cosmetic Surgery Partners, London)
    • Dr El Gammal (Cosmetic Surgery Partners, London)
    • Miss Chloe Wright (Pall Mall Medical Group)
    • Dr Kate Williams (Pall Mall Medical Group)
    • Dr Richard Fakin (Madrid)
    • Dr Lembas (Poland)

If you’re interested in a surgeon not listed here, it’s best to contact them to check if they’ll accept a referral from us. We’re also happy to reach out for you.

  • We’re happy to contact your GP to request shared-care, but it depends on whether they agree. We can’t guarantee they will, however, as every GP practice is different.

  • Sometimes, yes, but it depends on what the diagnosis is for.

If you need a formal diagnosis for something specific (like a gender recognition certificate), talk to us and we’ll let you know if we can help. If not, we can refer you to someone who can.

  • When a payment is missed, we will send you an email notifying you of this. The email will include a link to update your payment method.

If you’re experiencing financial difficulties, please reach out to discuss this with us. We’ll always do what we can to help.
