Future funding opportunities

We know that the need for subsidised gender-affirming care exceeds what we can currently provide. We’re constantly working to expand access as we secure additional funding.

If you weren’t able to apply this time, or if your application isn’t successful, please check this page or follow our social media channels for updates on future funding rounds.

  • Funding provides fully or partially subsidised access to Anne’s Standard membership, including gender-affirming care from our specialist team.

Funded membership covers your care with Anne for as long as you remain eligible and actively engaged with care.

    Funding does not cover:

    • Medication costs
    • Surgery or surgical assessments
    • Travel expenses
    • Living expenses
    • Care provided by other healthcare providers

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • This funding is for UK-based trans, non-binary and gender-diverse people who are facing financial difficulty and are unable to afford private gender-affirming care.

    To be eligible, you must:

    • Live in the United Kingdom
    • Be currently receiving a qualifying means-tested benefit and able to provide valid evidence
    • Not have previously accessed gender-affirming care through a private provider. Self-medicating or DIY hormone use will not affect your eligibility.
    • Have parental or carer consent if under 18

Due to limited funding, this round is strictly limited to applicants who are currently in receipt of a means-tested benefit. Parents or carers applying for someone under 18 must provide a recent Child Benefit statement.

Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee funding.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • No, we’re afraid not. This round of funding is only available to people based in the United Kingdom.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • No, sorry. This funding only covers Anne’s Standard membership costs. Funding cannot be used to pay for surgery or any other costs outside of care provided directly by Anne.

Subsidised funding is limited to a funded Anne membership and cannot be transferred, refunded, or used for care, assessments, prescriptions, or services with another provider. It also does not cover medication, travel, or general living expenses.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • Before starting your application, please ensure you have the following ready:

    • Proof of receipt of a means-tested benefit (e.g. Universal Credit award notice or other benefits statements dated within the last 3 months)
    • Photo ID and proof of address

Please note that bank statements, credit card bills, and utility bills are not accepted as evidence of financial need.

If your ID is in a previous name, you will need a proof of name change (e.g. a deed poll document)

For parents or carers applying on behalf of someone under 18, you will need a child benefit statement dated within the last 3 months.

Applications that do not include all required documentation cannot be considered.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • You’ll need to upload proof of receipt of a qualifying means-tested benefit (e.g. a Universal Credit award notice), dated within the last 3 months.

Parents/carers applying for young people under 18 must also provide a child benefit statement dated within the last year.

Please note that bank statements, credit card bills, and utility bills cannot be accepted as evidence of financial need.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • No, sorry. Our limited funding is reserved for people who have not previously accessed private gender-affirming care.

We understand this may be disappointing and appreciate your understanding.

  • Yes. Your funded membership can continue for as long as you need care with Anne, provided you remain eligible for subsidised support.

We review eligibility once a year and will ask you to provide updated proof of benefits and income to ensure you remain eligible for subsidised support.

If your financial circumstances change and you are no longer eligible for subsidised support, we will support you to transition off funded membership.

  • Yes. Funded membership is subject to annual eligibility review.

As part of this review, we’ll ask you to provide updated proof of benefits and income. If your financial circumstances change and you’re able to afford care independently, we’ll support you to transition off funded support so that funding can be reallocated in future rounds.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • We recognise that demand for funded gender-affirming care exceeds available funding. Where eligible applications exceed available places, funded memberships are allocated at random.

If you are unsuccessful, this does not reflect your need or the validity of your application.

If you are not selected this time:

    • You are welcome to apply again in the next funding round
    • Our team can signpost other potential routes to accessing care

We remain committed to expanding access and continue to seek additional funding as part of our core mission as a not-for-profit.

  • No, sorry. Subsidised funding can only be used to cover gender-affirming care provided directly by Anne through a funded membership. It cannot be transferred, refunded, or used to pay for care, assessments, prescriptions, or services with any other provider.

The funding also cannot be used to cover medication costs, surgery, travel, or living expenses.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.

  • The application form is open for a fixed window, as stated on the Apply for care webpage.

    After the form closes:

    1. An independent Anne panel reviews applications to confirm eligibility.
    2. If the number of eligible applications exceeds available funding, funded memberships are allocated at random from eligible applications using a random number generator.

This process is designed to ensure fairness where demand exceeds available resources.

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding.

Successful applicants will complete the standard Anne onboarding and consent process before beginning care.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions before applying for subsidised care.
