When we founded Anne Health, we made a simple promise: everyone who comes to us should receive the same quality of care we would want for someone we love. That promise hasn’t changed.
We had to fight for our loved ones to access the care they so desperately needed, and we’ll continue to fight for you.
From the very beginning, we were clear that we would not leave young people behind. We knew that providing care for under-18s would make Anne Health a target, but it was a commitment we were never willing to compromise on.
As the environment for trans healthcare in the UK has become increasingly hostile, that commitment has become harder to protect.
We’ve been watching the UK’s political and regulatory landscape with growing concern. Rollbacks of trans+ rights, the blocker ban, restrictions on access to gender-affirming hormones for under-18s, increasing scrutiny of care for 18 to 25 year olds. And, most recently, the appalling treatment of the young people and families accessing care through WellBN. All of these developments point in the same direction.
These decisions are often presented as being in the interests of “care”, but those of us who have experienced this system first-hand know the reality is very different. Our patients deserve better than that.
Rather than stepping away from the people who need us, we’ve chosen to change how Anne Health is structured so we can continue providing the care we believe in.
