Susie Green Wins Trans In The City’s CEO Award 2024

In a surprise announcement for Anne Co-Founder and Director, Susie Green, last night she was presented the CEO of the Year Award at the 2024 Trans In The City Awards Gala. Acknowledged for her outstanding contribution to trans youth and adults over several decades – both during her time as CEO of Mermaids, and more recently in co-founding Anne Health with Lizzie Jordan – Susie was lost for words at the surprise announcement.

Accepting the award, Susie Green received a standing ovation from the audience and gave an impromptu speech:

“This is really special to me. I have worked so hard to protect my daughter, and then ongoing to protect other trans kids and over the last few years I’ve seen things going backwards. With the creation of Anne Health with Lizzie Jordan, we tried to do something that took things forward in the face of huge hostility and do you know something? We’re doing it! No matter what they throw at us, I won’t stop.”

Susie wasn’t the first member of the Anne Health Team to win an award at the Trans In The City Awards Gala. Earlier in the evening Anne Health team member, Jackie Swarbrick, had won the award for Trans Ally, for her work co-founding Safe Haven Cornwall.
